Below: – Many long laid plans for celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the end of 6 years of conflict in Europe were scuppered by the imposition of lockdown caused by the Covid-19 virus epidemic. VMARS Public Relations Officer Stuart McKinnon, G0TBI, has been representing the Royal Air Force Amateur Radio Society from home, making many contacts with the special event callsign GB75VED.

Below: Photographs of VMARS member David Coles, M0IDF who appears in period guise, complete with the ubiquitous pipe, in his excellent re-creation of a WW2 field signals station .Some very fine equipment on display here, including an immaculate looking and quite rare New Zealand ZC1 transceiver, a national HRO receiver, an R109 receiver and field telephone sets. A small portable typewriter is ready for writing up message reports.The R109 looks like it’s tuned to the VMARS working frequency of 3615kc/s. Very nice.
